CoE-DPP Community Meeting: How to accelerate adoption and implementation of DPPs

CoE-DSC Community Meeting

Digital Product Passports (DPPs) are quickly evolving from concept to compliance requirement and are becoming a key driver of data‑driven circular business models. CoE‑DPP has recently delivered two reports with insights and recommendations to accelerate DPP adoption and implementation. And what role plays the European Data Union strategy for DPP? All of this will be covered at the community meeting on Thursday 22 January.

Topics & speakers

  • DPP Landscape Scan – Laura van den Aarssen (CoE‑DPP/TNO)
An overview of key actors and roles in the Dutch DPP landscape, based on a new ecosystem framework. What does the scan reveal, and which recommendations can speed up progress?
  • DPP Adoption Pulse – Richard Ooms (CoEDPP/INNOPAY)
Key findings from a study among Dutch frontrunners across 11 sectors: success factors, barriers, and practical next steps for businesses, associations and policymakers.
  • European Data Union strategy for DPP – Franka Boender (Ministry of Economic Affairs)
This strategy plays an important role in shaping the design of the DPP system and further clarifies the underlying drivers behind it. Where lie the key priorities for the Netherlands?
  • The European Commission’s public consultations – Sjoerd Rongen (CoE-DPP/TNO)
Why are they important, and how can organisations actively engage with them?

An update on the status of Digital Product Passports (DPPs)

Last year, we spoke with Sjoerd Rongen, Digital Product Passports Lead at TNO and associated with the CoE-DSC, about the status of Digital Product Passports (DPPs). Since then, various new developments have taken place, which is why we spoke with Sjoerd again to get an update on its status. What are DPPs and what is already there?
