Centre of Excellence for Digital Product Passports (CoE-DPP) helps businesses and organizations to develop and use DPPs. We believe that providing detailed data across a product’s entire lifecycle unlocks significant societal, ecological, and economic value – driving transparency, sustainability, and innovation. By providing knowledge and support to DPP stakeholders we aim to create a level playing field, and contribute to an open, interoperable ecosystem.
CoE-DPP aims to unlock the value of product passports by supporting businesses and regulators in realizing scaled DPP solutions.
Lack of visibility on product impact and a deficit of product information are bottlenecks to circular economy business models. To track and manage the life-cycle of a product, including the information about its materials, components, and potential for reuse, recycle, repair or even disposal, helps you to achieve your sustainability goals. We help businesses and public authorities develop and work with interoperable DPP systems to increase traceability, transparency, and enable circular business models.
Digital Product Passports have the potential to be an impactful instrument for the circular economy. We are committed to make Digital Product Passports a success, in the Netherlands, Europe, and internationally.
The CoE-DPP is a TNO led initiative (as part of the Centre of Excellence for Data Sharing & Cloud (CoE-DSC) in the Netherlands. With the use cases that we will publish in the near future and the information in our Knowledge Base we can help you to tackle problems and realise your ecosystem goals with DPPs. So please join the CoE-DPP community. CoE-DPP is (initially) funded by the Dutch ministry of Economic Affairs. Other Dutch ministries are stakeholders in CoE-DPP.
Digital innovations don’t stop at the boundaries of sectors and can be hindered by the traditional sectoral approach to product development. Cross-sectoral interoperability is a key component of scaled adoption of DPP. For parties that want to contribute to our mission: we are an open initiative and welcome you to join us.
